Powerful-Simple-Blogging

Phil Butler,

Terapad.com announced that their all in one Web 2.0 blogging solution will be offered for free. Terapad.com is the only blogging community that offers Paypal™-ready shop. The site also provides a blogging platform that is simple to set up, while possessing advanced features that appeal to power bloggers and amatuers alike.

Terapad provides 2 gigabytes of storage, discussion forums, a free image gallery, and content management integrated into a neat, easy to use environment. Steven Tual, Director of Sitejourney, the company behind Terapad, said: “Terapad becoming free is going to give thousands of individuals and companies the chance to get the site they deserve. At the moment no one else is offering a complete solution such as ours - it’s always been either purchase a prohibitive license, or write the code yourself. Not any more.”

The site is ideal for small business owners or individuals starting businesses from a grass roots standpoint. Terapad users can use audit tools, create news pages and RSS feeds, while utilizing career tools. Justin Dean, Telepad’s Director, emphasized that: “Companies can start slow, with a simple news page and RSS feed, then add multimedia content and enable the required modules as they grow. We have corporate users managing all their HR and online content via Terapad - completely free of charge when a similar solution would cost thousands just in development fees. Blogging is just one of the 8 free modules we offer.”

I simply had to go to this site to find out if Telepad was as easy as the release claimed. As it turns out, this is a really great site to start out with or place an advanced blog. Go to my 5 minute sign up/create page, and I bet you won’t be able to resist playing either. Signing up, creating the page, importing an image, resizing the image, creating a thumbnail, and typing the text (plus smileys) only took me about 12 minutes! I goofed adding the image too, but not because of the platform, but due to my… uh… mouse, that’s it my mouse slipped. I was pretty impressed with Terapad!

I think that most really smart companies have realized that user generated content is what is going to make the web tick this year. This great free site will make it easy for new people to get involved, while providing quick, neat tools for experienced people to express their ideas. The business or online store capabilities of Terapad, make this new release an unbeatable attraction. I promise to create a more professional site as soon as possible, but for udner 15 minutes I did okay, didn’t I?
