WiZiQ Wants You To Know

WiZiQ is an online tutoring startup that offers a real time environment to allow students and teachers to interact. The site uses a virtual classroom equipped to utilize 2 way audio, text chat, whiteboard, PowerPoint and PDF document sharing together or independently. This simple and easy to use education tool makes one to one teaching and learning remotely about as easy as it gets. Teachers can build a profile, build a learning network and expand their earning potential, while students find help in difficult subjects and create their own learning networks too. In short, WiziQ may just be the shortest route to more personal and individual learning for both sides of the equation.
The WiZiQ whiteboard is one of the biggest advantages in its collaborative aspect which allows teacher and student to work out difficult problems on the same workspace in real time. The communication interface finishes out the basic need for essentially “in person” type interaction. This type of one-on-one collaboration is an excellent means of quickly resolving distance learning obstacles. Combined with the potential availability of reasonably priced tutoring, the simple but effective tools at WiZiQ make for an appealing solution for students and teachers/tutors.
Users can share image files, PDF documents, graphs and the PowerPoint option mentioned and many other options are indicated and rather obvious. I would like to see a video aspect added and some more options for specialized education in specific subjects as well. The UI at WiZiQ is effective, but as in any Beta there is always room for improvement. The “old slate” methodology is a proven and effective tool for Spartan learning, but today's students are fascinated with the appeal of technically advanced tools.
Personally, I think the old way may be the most effective for students to catch up or learn difficult concepts. The key to learning is time and understanding any way, so one-on-one sessions like these on WiZiQ are super effective and helpful. I like the way the site addresses monetizing tutoring for teachers, especially as an incentive for really good teachers to help young people learn.
Simple tools are sometimes best suited for important tasks and WiZiQ certainly falls into this category. With a few more bells and whistles the little beta could prove to be a great help to the teaching and learning niche. I wish we had this back in the day, because my grades would have been much improved even then with a little one on one. Simple, no subterfuge and effective what more can we say?
