Yapta.com - Your Amazing Personal Travel Assistant

Yapta is the site that will save you money on your next purchase of flight tickets. So often, you either hear about a deal on tickets someone else got that you missed by not checking the airline site two days before, or you buy your ticket, only to find out that had you waited a few more days, you could have saved yourself a lot of money on your purchase because of the random deal the airline posted afterward. This is where Yapta comes in. They allow you to monitor the various trips you are interested in to keep updated on when the prices drop, so that you know when to go in and purchase the tickets at the lowest cost to you.
If you’ve already bought tickets, they can also help to save you money by notifying you when you become applicable for a refund on your ticket based on a recent price drop. Either way, you can’t go wrong using a service whose goal is to save you money on generally pricey flight tickets.
In their own words: “Our purpose is to make it easy for you to secure the best airfare deals available on the Web. We do this by giving you a tool to “tag” the trips you like while shopping online, then we track prices on these trips and alert you when prices drop. Yapta also gives you a single place to keep all of your trips online. It's a pretty simple concept, but for some reason, no one has done this before. Yapta continues to track prices even after you buy a ticket. Did you know you could get a refund or travel credit when prices drop after you’ve bought a ticket? Most people don't. The airlines offer this policy only if you buy on the airline website (and they want you to have the confidence to buy early). Yapta alerts people when prices drop so they can get these refunds and credits from the airlines. The service has been working so well during our private beta (saving a significant amount of money for travelers) that we decided it’s now time to pull back the curtain and open this service to the public in time for the summer 2007 travel season.” Find out why it might be a killer and vote for this startup at KillerStartups.com.
