The second in our series "The People of Web 2.0" highlights another great friend of Profy, Web 2.0 and one of my favorite people, period. Mihaela Lica is a talented and super friendly journalist from Romania. This blogger/business lady has had quite a professional career spanning the venues of journalism, public relations, media consulting, SEO, SMO, web site design and blogging. Mihaela and people like her make the Web and the world a better place with their dedication, hard work and unyielding commitment to helping others.
People Are Us
This series is meant to be about the most important aspect of Web 2.0, the people who make up this fantastic new platform where our world is united as never before. People like Mihaela are the heart and soul of this globally interconnected universe we thrive in and it is a pleasure for me and for Profy to shine the spotlight on not only the great innovations of Web 2.0, but onto the wonderful people that help us make this Web an exponential improvement over its predecessor.
A Girl Like You
Mihaela, or Mig as she is affectionately called by her readers and friends, is from Romania where she once worked for the Ministry of Defense. Mig authors several excellent blogs including Pamil Visions a web development service, Blogger Power a site to help safeguard the Web for children, eWritings a Pamil Visions blog/online public relations site, Rounite a novel in Rumanian and Romania My Love where the world can experience this wonderful country through the eyes of a superb tour guide. Mig actually writes or develops on these blogs/sites daily and also finds time to help friends from MyBlogLog (where we met this angel) and to read our blog here at Profy while performing her public relations duties near the village where she lives in Germany.
A Great Blogger is a Friend
How many times have we needed someone just to give us an opinion or advice to be answered by someone who really cares? We all rely so much on one another and I know I have been very lucky to meet people like Mig who are sometimes much busier than myself but who take the time to lend a helping hand or a kind word. Mig is the kind of person and community member that led us to start this series. People do not have to be celebrities or world famous to be an integral part of the Web and the world; in fact all the celebrities in the world would be quite useless without people like Mihaela to be frank. Just a quick read of the content or comments on one of Mig's sites instantly reflects a person who is a friend to everyone.
Balance
I used to wonder (and have reflected many times here) how an SEO organization could possibly be inclusive of both excellence and effectiveness. The old saying is: "Never say never" and I would never have thought it possible in this age of hype and trickery on the Web. SEO by its definition should have been about optimizing sites so that their content and value attracted search to them. This is the way a true site developer should approach site design and optimization. Balance is the key to excellence in a life or for a web site. Mig designs, advises and develops relationships for her clients in the same way she helps friends, fights for humanitarian causes and ultimately balances her love for work, charity and Salsa dancing. You read it right Salsa, and not just the watered down kind but the Cuban style in her own words, erotic and passionate. So there is the formula for a great blogger, fantastic business woman and a beautiful lady, person and friend. Balance in all things and a passion for living and sharing. Perhaps this is what we are all here on Web 2.0 for after all.
Notes To Our Great Readers and Members
It is important I think to tell our fantastic readers and Profy members that none of the people spotlighted in this series has had a clue that we wanted to share them with you. Mig is a member of Profy who visits and comments regularly but the primary reason she was chosen was really to share her with you if you have not already seen her in the blogosphere. So, if you see that sweet smile at MyBlogLog or here at Profy say hello and be amazed at another of the wonderful people of Web 2.0.
We leave you with a collage from one of Mig's blogs, which we are sure she will want the entire world to see. The story of the red pepper necklace is one for our subject to tell.

Not to be rude and all, but This seems more like a iography than real web 2.0 news. It is a little irrelevant.
Hi Brian,You are right about the Biography aspect to be sure, but the point is to recognize what really makes Web 2.0 something special. Without people this would be a very stagnant place after all. I am sorry you do not find it interesting or even news worthy but I think that a person (not necessarily a blogger) is as vital as any gadget or transient news in the final analysis. The Web has become a very personalized thing and any blog about Web 2.0 would be incomplete without a few stories about people at various places along our path. I value your opinion though and thank you for your comment.

I will definitely check Mig’s Blogs out* The only other Mig’s i had heard of were the dude from Australia who placed 2nd or 3rd in the INXS RockStar show (our Canadian Rocker JD Fortune won!! ;)) + of course the MiG fighter jets from Russia & the Eastern Bloc which Romania was part of* Back in the days when Information coming out of those countries was almost non-existant* Still amazes me how little we know about such a huge part of the world incl. China too*
That is where Web2.0 enables real important things like Dialogue + Discussion + Freedom of Speech - even right here in the West in Canada + good ol’ America* Attention has been brought to many Human plights + causes such as the atrocities happening in Darfur + many other Human Refugee Camps* It would be nice to see Peace spread throughout the World via Web2.0*

Thank you, Billy, for being so kind. Yes, this is where “Mig” comes from. Back in my “army” days, the pilots used to call me Mig 29 “The Sniper” - after the Russian-Romanian plane with the same name. (The Romanian army upgraded the Russian Mig 29 planes, with NATO compatible systems).

The whereabouts of my meeting Mig are quite funny (two Romanian girls introduced to each other by a Pakistani blogger), but I am really greatful to have met her. She is truly wonderful! And her work amazing. I still don’t know the secret recipe she uses to do all the great things she does, but I’ll find out one day
Not sure I totally concur with Brian’s remarks. It all hinges on what you believe Web 2.0 to be. I think that what you are doing is ‘living’ Web 2.0 and the biography of Mig and the media that has enabled it are, for me Web 2.0 in action. I’ve been in touch with Mig and she is a very talented an thoughtful person, and we exchanged views on something that appeared in the news, Mig leaving a comment on my Blog. Without Web 2.0 I don’t think me, you or Mig would have been in touch and Brian wouldn’t have been able to say what he thought about that!
It is great to see comments from everyone. There are several issues going on here, but I am glad that people come here and express themselves. It is not really about being right or wrong, but about expanding. My editor is a wonderful person and a very brilliant woman too. We argue like cats and dogs all the time. I point this out because it is the discourse and the human interaction that helps us to grow.
Web 2.0 is about growth and human beings. These fantastic innovations we are all privy to are but tools for the expansion of the human condition. So far, they have primarily been in a form for basically entertaining us and somewhat of a nature to help us communicate better. The essence of all this interaction is the one innovation, the finest creative example and the most versatile invention we have experienced, the person.
No matter how we extrovert ourselves onto the framework of this platform(as O”Reilly termed it) there is no extricating ourselves from being human beings. MIg and people like her are examples of how we should or can be. Most of you don’t know it but most of these comments are from people who exemplify excellence. I will not point them out, but each of us can only be better if we acknowledge each other. That is what this series is about, acknowledging the true heroes and the real innovation of the Web.
