Can’t RockMe.dium? Don’t Try Hard

Phil Butler,

RockMeBadge

My friends at Me.dium are some of the coolest people on the planet, and their latest “real time” mosh pit RockMe.dium proves it. RockMe is a five day music festival designed to allow fans to interact with artists and industry gurus. The event began today and is a unique online social experience where Web destinations and unique content are being debuted in conjunction with the Me.dium interactive Web window. RockMe runs from today through Saturday.

Until now there has really been no way to socialize around online music, but Me.dium continually tries to add context between the real and online world experience. This festival is another cool integration of Web 2.0 technology with “right now” online entertainment. RockMe.dium is being headlined by Rose Hill Drive, one of Rolling Stone's top ten artists to watch. The band will be premiering their latest video “Reptilian Blues” via live stream at the event.

  • Wow, this is probably one of the coolest social happenings these days. Me.dium does a pretty good job marketing its product. I love the logo and the sensual design of the poster. Sexy and powerful. It’s a “feel good” message all over it. It really reminds me of my “wild years” when The Doors ruled my world… :)

So, I’ve been no the RockMe.dium site and… although I have a fast connection it took pretty long for the side to upload.

Then… when I tried to open the RockMeListing.pdf I was surprised to find out that I need to update my Adobe reader to be able to access the file. (make me!)

And why do all links need to open in new windows? This is pretty confusing and annoying if I may add… Talking about accessibility. I am a bit disappointed about that.
