iMeem Partners with EMI

What would happen if one of the "big four" music companies partnered with a social network? We're about to find out. In the news this week is the new partnership between social discovery network iMeem and music company EMI .
As of this week, users of iMeem have access to the complete EMI music digital catalog. iMeem launched their own ad-supported digital content social
network earlier in the year, and having the vast EMI catalog at their disposal will only help them become more useful.
iMeem already partners with several other music and digital media publishers for its service. EMI is the largest partner so far, and its agreement with iMeem furthers its own forays into online applications of its digital media distribution.
EMI is best known around the web for being the first major label to work with Apple and iTunes on the pricing and availability of DRM free music. DRM free music pricing is slowly becoming standard, and EMI was one of the first to see it as a viable business tool. iMeem's ad based digital distribution system should be the ideal next platform for EMI's digital wares.
What artists can iMeem users hear with the new partnership? Think artists from all music genres, like The Beach Boys, Norah Jones, Daft Punk and Joss Stone, to name a few. EMI headliner Radiohead recently made innovation headlines by releasing an album and allowing their fans to choose the purchase price online.
