MoFuse, Mobilize and Monetize Your RSS Feed
by
on November 11, 2007,
MoFuse, short for mobile fusion is a new kid on the block when it comes to RSS feeds on your mobile phone. MoFuse founded in July 2007 released its first private beta in the late part of September 2007.
The idea behind MoFuse is to allow, as it so boldly states, “content publishers to create RSS driven mobile sites and gives our users the ability to control almost every aspect of the design using some of our AJAX features”, and you do not have to be a blogger to use it (MoFuse).
MoFuse also lays claim to the fact that it is the only company with a mobile revenue sharing program thereby allowing you, the publisher, to monetize your mobile site by choosing either Google AdSense Mobile or MoFuse's partner program, AdMob.
Ad Revenue
You have the option of monetizing your site, but you will need to split any generated revenue 50/50 and they (MoFuse) do recommend AdMob, for obvious reasons. Your MoFuse site will display your ads 50% of the time and MoFuse’s ads the other 50%. Considering MoFuse does offer their services free there is no real sacrifice on your part.
With a purported estimate of over 50 million blogs in existence and growing, add to the mix 2.7 billion mobile phones in use today, you have a huge market to tap into in respect to your mobile marketing prospects.

MoFuse Allows Personal Touch
MoFuse does have competition from the likes of BUZmob, Yahoo Mobile, ClearSky, and Winksite, and each having similarities and benefits. MoFuse, however, takes it to the next level by allowing you to customize almost every characteristic of your site from creating and adding a header or header image of your choice to customized background, font, and link colours, by implementing a WYSIWYG page editor. MoFuse also has the ability to create static pages as well for information about your blog and contact information.

MoFuse is easy to setup, less than five minutes of your time from sign-up to your site being live on the mobile network. With its one-step process, immediately after logging in, you can begin to take full-advantage of MoFuse’s service options by creating a new personal mobile site or mirroring your existing blog. MoFuse then pulls the content from your existing RSS feed. You then have the choice of using your existing domain name or creating a new subdomain.

Once you have created your mobile site MoFuse will then create a static link for you to share, looking something like this: http://m.mofuse.com/myblog. You can then put this link on your blog for your mobile visitors to click thereby directing them to your mobile version of your site. It’s just that easy.
MoFuse also offers you the opportunity to use a PHP code snippet, which you then paste at the top of your index.php, or header.php file that will automatically detect and redirect your mobile visitors to your mobile site as well.
Conclusion
MoFuse delivered everything it said it would and while still in its infancy, I can see potential as it is well ahead of its competitors when it comes to publisher control of content options and design and revenue generating opportunities.
Personally, I just wish there was a way to integrate my favorite options from each service provider into Mofuse. If you are like me, you can always make suggestions to MoFuse, as I am positive they will welcome your input.
I found MoFuse to be easy to use, a positive contribution to mobile RSS feed marketing technology, and I wish them much success.

I respectfully differ with your opinion and do not see how is this statement is even remotely true? Other services provide the ability to mobilize RSS and other Web-based content, customize the look and feel of your mobile site, etc.
…and the free Winksite service in particular allows you to add your Google or Admob accounts but keeps NO part of the revenue generated by your site.
My response above was hastily dashed out before my first cup of coffee…
