Tripit For The Holidays
12/07/2007, 8 months 3 weeks ago
The holiday season is upon us, so I thought it appropriate to review a very effective and cool service called Tripit . Tripit it is not a brand new site, but it has added some great new features that can make trip planning drop dead easy.
Essentially, all anyone has to do is forward their travel confirmation emails to Tripit and the system automatically builds a master itinerary for the user. Everything the traveler needs is essentially provided for them from maps to city guides and more. I wish I had done this review 3 weeks ago when I planned my upcoming trip.
Loaded and Ready
Tripit does everything from syncing itineraries with calendars (including - iCal, Google, Outlook2007, Plaxo and others) to converting Fahrenheit to Celsius or supporting international accents. International users have travel confirmation support from Aer Lingus, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Tiger Airways, Virgin Blue and Avis Europe and rail providers such as: Amtrak, GNER, UK Trainline and VIA Rail. The list of features and future upgrades really goes on and on. The bottom line is, this service rocks if you travel.

Trippin With Tripit
Tripit launched just a few months ago and is co-founded by Gregg Brockway former president of Expedia's "Classic Vacations". The service is really simple and easy to discover for even the novice, as it should be. Travelers can receive updates from PC's or mobile devices worldwide and Tripit employs some of the best city guides and maps I have seen combined in one place.
Tripit has recieved rave reviews before this one, so I am not on shaky ground in saying that it is "a must" for people who do a lot of traveling. I expect it will also be a great help to people taking a trip for the first time too given its simplicity. This is one of those companies that is so useful and simple - there simply is not anything bad or critical to say - well the colors on the Web site are not may taster - there. I like this one - simple, useful and thoughtful.
