We reviewed LongJump here some time ago, and I continue to be impressed with CEO Pankaj Malviya and his approach to his product. He has been continuously releasing new feature sets since his product launch, making it more and more useful for his user base. He also remains very accessible and willing to discuss his product and answer questions.
The newest feature is one I thought worth a mention here. LongJump has added a feature called Workflow to their application set. Workflow takes LongJump to a whole new level of operation. It allows you to make your applications more proactive instead of passive.
By using Workflow to make the rest of your LongJump application suite work for you, you end up saving yourself time and making yourself and your company more efficient. Workflow also make your third party applications like Microsoft Outlook and Access, for example, work proactively within and with LongJump as well.
One of my favorite things about LongJump has been how well it works with third party applications. They encourage third party application development. Their application work with the Microsoft office family of products and Oracle, as well as a few others, and they are always open to more interaction with existing programs.
Workflow is a nice addition, not only because it helps all of the features of LongJump work together well, and go to work for you, making sure emails are sent, events are added to the calendar, customers are served promptly and more, but also because it does the same with the third party applications.
Also, LongJump has used a really nice graphical interface with Workflow, making it incredibly easy to use. You literally just draw a picture of how you want information and tasks to flow in your commpany, and Workflow makes it happen. Each event scheduled is handled right on time, from billing and expense reports to customer issues and more. It's very efficient. I'm pleased to see a solid online business application continuing to improve even after it has reached some level of success.

[…] Online application sharing and virtual office application use through tools like Google Docs, Long Jump, Peepel, and Open Office online has begun to build quite a head of steam as a viable option to expensive desktop apps. Having access to cheap and portable alternatives to traditional office tools has made cubicle obsolete for many. Especially for those who work in or around the technology industry, working away from the confines of a desk has never been easier. […] | |
